Native-speakerism and non-native second language teachers: A research agenda

چکیده

Abstract A lot of attention has been devoted in the last 30 years to understanding nativeness and what traditionally called non-nativeness. While many studies have attempted problematize dichotomic division between so-called native speakers non-native speakers, several others specifically focussed on language teaching profession order understand aspects related identity performance teachers who align with either one those two categories. In this paper, we provide a brief overview relevant literature published after Moussu Llurda's (2008) state-of-the-art article set out series tasks that deem important expand field research cover areas not yet sufficiently investigated. Those are grouped into three sections main perceive be need attention: (1) debunking native-speakerism; (2) differences teachers; (3) languages other than English.
